Ideas for Small Weddings

Camera Wedding Favors

Unless you have an extremely small budget you will probably have a professional photographer and possibly even a videographer to record you wedding day.  Even if he (or she) has an assistant, he can only be in one place at a time and formal photos are the photographer's main responsibility.  Disposable cameras give your guests an opportunity to give you another gift--a visual record of their good time. The pictures from your guests may rival or even surpass the photographer's photos.

Place a couple of cameras on each table.  One camera for every 4 or 5 guests should work out nicely.  Another ideal spot is the cocktail bar.  If you have a cocktail hour before the reception place the cameras in convenient locations around the venue.  Be sure to buy cameras with a flash.  Cameras come in a wide variety of wedding designs and colors (white, ivory, silver, gold, florals, etc.).  They are genearally more expensive than regular disposable cameras.   I have never seen anyone successfully decorate their own but that doesn't mean it isn't possible.  Shop around for the best price.  At $5-7 a piece the amount can really add up.  If you order on-line be sure to calculate the shipping charges.

Your guests make take them away and develop the film themselves. If you want to be sure that you get those pictures appoint someone to collect them ahead of time.  Most film developers now offer the option of burning digital images to a CD for you.  Take it.  It's worth the extra $1.  Then you can share the pictues on the internet through a service like Snapfish or give your guests their own CDs.
